Fortunately for Johnny Hoogerland, the next day was a rest day. We wanted to play homage to him. We took some wood type and wrapped it in gauze and handrolled it to connect to the barbed wire gouges. We put a red cross at Paris and used a bike chain shaped into the outline of France. We ended up setting a rule for all future TdLG projects that we would use a bike chain on the first rest day's broadside.
