This year the Delaware College of Art & Design is dividing its first-year class into 6 groups that rotate every 2 weeks among 6 faculty. Casey Smith takes his group to The Contemporary one week and brings them to Lead Graffiti the other.
They started with us on Friday, September 16.
As the video says, “We give the meeting an 8.0.” And that is a good score.
We’ve been doing this each fall semester for 3 years. This gathering might have been the best, most questioning, and most focused of the groups so far.
A THOUGHT FOR THE STUDENTS. Trying to break new creative ground is work. Get used to trying to build that into your creative method. "What would a good student do? Right here. Right now." needs to become an adventurous process. Here's a good step forward for the dozen students who shared part of their 9/16/22 with us. EXPLAIN TO THE REST OF YOUR CLASS WHAT THEY NEED TO DO TO ACHIEVE EVEN MORE IN THEIR LEAD GRAFFITI SESSION. Explain it to the rest of your class and change the line to, "What would a good school do?" Make the competition around you better.
